Columbia Spectator Interview

“Each song on “Strings” has its own sonic characteristics, supporting Li’s detailed and heartfelt lyrics. At the same time, “Strings” is more than just a random collection of songs loosely strung together; despite its musical variety, it is one cohesive emotional journey, with the lyrics of each song building upon Li’s understanding of love. Through its experimentation with various musical genres, “Strings” spans the highs and lows of Li’s life, with her distinctive voice being the common thread throughout the journey.” - Irene Madrigal

The Peahce Project Interview

I learned a lot about what it means to bring a passion project to fruition. I “learned how much work it takes to release an EP. I learned the importance of taking my time, but also staying consistent and dedicated to my work and craft. I learned how to ask for help, and the benefit and how crucial it was to surround myself with people that could support and help me along the way. Most importantly, I learned so much about myself, and what it means to be an 18 year old growing into myself, and taking the world by storm.” - Christina Li

“Every time I see her, she is wrapped up in music,” Director of Chamber Music and Orchestra Thomas Bergeron noted. “Christina is one of those students who provides a constant reminder of why I am a music educator.”

Others also commented on Li’s extraordinary ability to bring people together. “Christina has always been a confident and enthusiastic leader,” Nikita Pelletier said. “She cares about us all and has high expectations that we all want to achieve because she is such a respectable person.”

Strings Official Press Release

“Strings is an ode to maturation, capturing key moments of growth, love, nostalgia, and learning. It’s a culmination of Christina’s journey as a musician and a person since childhood like a nonlinear coming-of-age film. There is variety in Strings — from K-Pop influenced summer bops to candid alt-folk ballads — but not so much that it seems disjointed. Christina uses the diversity of her sound to create a debut that is lyrically compelling and musically memorable.” - Justin Winley, M. StageScene Communications
