About
At 18, singer-songwriter, producer, and arranger Christina Li (of Christina Li Music) is a prime example of the up-and-coming DIY recording artists of today’s music industry.
Characteristic of her multicultural upbringing, Christina’s sound is heavily shaped by Korean pop and r&b artists such as Red Velvet and Zion. T, and pulls from a wide variety of other stylistic influences spanning across American pop and r&b, indie, and soul. As such, she is unafraid to maneuver in and out of conventional genres within her music: a signature to Christina’s unique sound. Combining classical training and a familiarity with modern styles, Christina writes, arranges, records, mixes, and masters all of her own music.
A recent graduate from Deerfield Academy, Christina is devoted to learning, creating, and sharing her love for music and the performing arts. Christina co-founded her school’s first all-gender A Cappella group, and also became the guitarist, later keyboardist, for her school’s newly formed 16-piece pop/rock/jazz band. As a bandleader and arranger for both ensembles, Christina honed her skills across an array of musical fields, from writing horn charts, singing on stage, to organizing concerts. In the recording studio, Christina developed her songwriting and production skills, and in the winter of 2018, Christina released her first single, “Young & Reckless”, under her former artist name KRISSI. She plans to re-release the song on her first EP ‘Strings’, out August 22, 2020. Click here to pre-save ‘Strings’, now!
Christina splits her time between homes; one in Hong Kong and the other in New York City, where she is currently pursuing her undergraduate education at Columbia University while developing her musicianship and establishing herself as a bright and bold new force in a rapidly changing industry.
